The history of World War I activities in Orange County, N.C., 1917-1918, was compiled by AnnieSutton Cameron in 1919 at the request of J. S. Webb, chair of the county Council of Defense. The making of typed copies was arranged by Louis Round Wilson of the University of North Carolina Library and Robert Burton House, collector of war records for the North Carolina Historical Commission, 1919-1920. Other materials were added from from Rural Social Economic Department at UNC and from Professor E. C. Branson's papers.
