Abstract Gaston Hillary Wilder (1814-1873) was a planter of Johnston County and Wake County, N.C. The collection includes antebellum deeds, legal papers, and scattered accounts and letters of Gaston Hillary Wilder. Included are Wilder's account book as paymaster in the United States Army during the Mexican War; scattered household accounts and letters of Wilder's wife, Sarah E. Hinton Wilder, after his death; and papers of his brother, Samuel Wilder, of Greene County, Ala., including a farm account book, 1876-1880, general merchandise account books, 1885-1911, and other business papers.
