Richard Hooker Wilmer (1816-1900) was an Episcopal priest in Virginia and bishop of Alabama, 1861-1900. Wilmer was born in Alexandria, Va., and was educated at Yale University and the Theological Seminary in Virgina. His father was William Holland Wilmer.

The collection includes papers of Richard H. Wilmer, an Episcopal priest in Virginia and bishop of Alabama, 1861-1900, including sermon notes, scattered letters on church matters, and anecdotal reminiscences of parishioners and other ministers.
