Abstract William B. Wilson (fl. 1856-1882) was a lawyer of York County, S.C. The collection includes a scrapbook/memoranda book of Wilson, containing financial memoranda, clippings, and letters pertaining to his public career, chiefly as an orator before and during the Civil War. Also included are scattered loose items of the same sort, and two Civil War letters from Wilson to his wife while he served as a colonel in a reserve regiment on the South Carolina coast in summer 1864.
