Members of the Siler family are chiefly descendants of Weimar Siler (1755-1831), who was born in Pennsylvania, fought in the Revolutionary War, married Margaret Rafferty of Virginia in 1783, and moved to Pendleton, S.C., around 1787, Buncombe County, N.C., around 1805, and settled in Macon County, N.C. in 1827. Minutes of Siler family meetings held in Macon County, N.C., 1853-1953. Annual entries document the meeting place, number of attendees, and order of business. There are also records of deaths, births, marriages, and accomplishments of family members. |
