Abstract | James F. Gwinner (born 1876) was a dentist from Yazoo City, Miss., who moved to Memphis, Tenn., and started a practice with Richard E. Bullington. The collection includes the daily diary of Gwinner, describing in some detail starting practice in Memphis, Tenn., his work, leisure activities, reading, and local events. There are 365 full-page entries, and a few clippings and other items are pasted in the back of the volume. He mentioned theater, baseball, a Buffalo Bill show, and a yellow fever epidemic among many other topics. |
