Percy T. Elliott was an electrician and electrical contractor of Norfolk, Va., and Durham, N.C. Elliot worked in the electric lighting and power department of Durham Traction Company, 1904-1906, then in a similar position in Norfolk, 1906-1907. In 1907 Elliott and C. O. King started a firm of electrical contractors. In July 1907 he returned to Durham, again working as an electrician and later establishing his own contracting business.

The collection includes letters received by Percy T. Elliott from various friends and relatives in Durham, N.C., and other places, discussing personal affairs, religious concerns, and community and church activities. Scattered electrical business correspondence, 1906-1907, is also included.
