Abstract "Ten Missions Over Germany" was written by William Griswold Smith of Greensboro, N.C., in 1978. The collection includes "Ten Missions Over Germany," reminiscences (typed, 29 pages), written by Smith about ten missions he flew over Germany as a pilot with the 100th Bomb Squadron, United States Eighth Air Force, March-April 1945. The account describes attacks on German submarine pens and other facilities, gives information on briefings, and includes comments on other members of the squad and on social life in London, England, while on leave.

The collection includes "Ten Missions Over Germany," reminiscences (typed, 29 pages), written by William Griswold Smith about ten missions he flew over Germany as a pilot with the 100th Bomb Squadron, United States Eighth Air Force, March-April 1945. The account describes attacks on German submarine pens at Keil and Hamburg; oil facilities at Zeitz and Hamburg; railyards at Nurenberg and Tabor; air fields at Munich and Magdburg; a factory at Ingoldstidt; and a railyard at Egen, Czechoslovakia. Information is included on the briefing and preparations for each raid; targets; the position of his plane in formation; type of bombs carried; and other aircraft on the raid. Also includes scattered comments on other members of the squadron and an account of a brief leave in London, England, and of several mercy missions to drop food in Holland.
