William Reese Sharpe practiced medicine in Fulton, Davie County, N.C., from about 1840 to 1896. He married Emma Amanda Hanes and had one child, Adelia Imogene Sharpe.

The collection includes two account books, 1873-1876, from William Reese Sharpe's medical practice, other financial and legal records of Sharpe, land deeds and indentures from Davie County, N.C., and a photograph of Sharpe.
