Abstract Roland Giduz (1925- ) of Chapel Hill, N.C., journalist and long-time associate director of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill Alumni Association and editor of several of its serial publications. Giduz is also active in civic and service organizations in the community and served for twelve years on the Chapel Hill Town Council. From 1953 through 1982, he contributed a regular local feature and opinion column called "Newsman's Notepad" to the Chapel Hill Newspaper and other local newspapers. Correspondence, writings, and other materials chiefly relating to Giduz's activities in civic and social organizations, particularly the Occoneechee Council of the Boy Scouts of America and the Rotary Club of Chapel Hill, including his work with the Rotary's AWARE (Accept Women as Rotary Equals) program. Also included are a few miscellaneous writings and materials relating to the publication of "Who's Gonna Cover 'Em Up?" (1985), a compilation of Giduz's Chapel Hill Newspaper columns, and some items relating to Chapel Hill politics.
