Letters and telegrams to Eva Hassell Hackney Bonner from her husband, her sister, and her friends. Also included is a letter of introduction from Secretary of State Cordell Hull. Eva Bonner travelled with a group to Europe in 1934 and kept a travel diary of her experiences. She recorded in this diary that in Berlin "there are always soldiers of some kind around or marching. 100,000 are Hitler's Guard, the others appear to be Storm Troops ... ." She also recorded seeing "the crowd welcoming Dr. Joseph Goebbels, Hitler's right hand man and Minister of Propagranda. Hundreds of people waited hours to see him all giving the Nazi sign many times ... ." However, most of the diary entries decribe museums and works of art rather than political happenings. She also collected postcards of the places she visited and took notes about the place upon the backs of the cards.
