The plantation journal, 1830, contains records of daily activities of John Hill and workers on his plantation constructing farm buildings and caring for animals, tools, and crops, which included cotton, corn, and oats. Accounts, 1835, are for medical services to slaves rendered by John Hill, including medicines supplied. The records of the Springfield Beat, 1836-1843, include rolls, orders, and records of drills, elections, courts-martial, fines, and expenditures.
