Abstract | John Gilchrst McCormick studied at the University of North Carolina, 1896-1899, and while there undertook a thesis on the personnel of the North Carolina Secession Convention of 1861-1862. The collection includes replies from delegates who attended the North Carolina Secession Convention of 1861 and from relatives and friends of the delegates, to a questionnaire distributed by John Gilchrist McCormick, giving profession, records of public service, attitude toward secession, and when applicable, date of death.
