Abstract | Walter B. Myrick was a general merchant in Murfreesboro, Hertford County, N.C., and Southampton County, Va. The collection includes business correspondence, accounts, and other business papers, chiefly 1866-1905, relating primarily to Walter B. Myrick's transactions with Kader Biggs and Company, commission merchants and cotton factors, of Norfolk, Va. Also included are antebellum papers of Myrick's business and letters to Myrick's wife, Anne O. Neal Myrick of Murfreesboro, from her brothers, John N. Neal of Columbus, Miss., and Thomas S. Neal, of Virginia. Volumes are a merchandise daybook of Thomas Newsome, Southampton County, 1838-1849; a store ledger, 1891-1901; and accounts with farm laborers or tenants, 1904-1910. |
