Clara Compton Raymond (born 1857) was a resident of the Evergreen and Flowerton plantations in Rapides Parish, La., and was educated in Stuttgart, Germany, and Geneva, Switzerland, 1865-1868. Raymond was the daughter of Frances and Dr. T. W. Compton, a native of Baltimore, Md., and surgeon in New Orleans before the Civil War.
