Abstract | Paul Trapier (1806-1872) was an Episcopal clergyman of Georgetown, S.C., and Charleston, S.C. The collection is chiefly correspondence of Paul Trapier about church and personal matters, and scattered earlier family papers. Correspondence includes letters from Trapier to Robert W. Harris at Columbia College, N.Y., 1828-1830, and letters from Stephen Elliott (1806-1866), James Hervey Otey (1800-1863), and other Episcopal clergymen. Also included are scattered papers of Trapier's father-in-law, Bishop Theodore Dehon (1776-1817), 1797-1810, and a speech, perhaps by Dehon, on procedures for electing a bishop in Connecticut, 1813. |
