The collection includes diaries, 1865-1876 (12 volumes), of Samuel Jordan Wheeler. In the diaries, Wheeler discussed his medical practice and farm, the weather, and neighborhood news, and also included a record of the marriages and deaths of persons in Hertford and Bertie counties. Also inclucded is a diary, 1825, of Thomas O'Dwyer, an Irish immigrant, physician, and farmer in Hertford County, N.C. |
