Nathaniel Fleming Bowe (1810-1875) was a Richmond, Va., tobacco merchant.

The collection is a diary, 29 August 1846-28 October 1846, of Nathaniel Fleming Bowe, a Richmond, Va., tobacco merchant on a trip to Britain, describing the voyage and his visits to English, Scottish, and Irish cities, with special attention to the Liverpool and London tobacco markets, American tobacco prices abroad, a visit to a London tobacco factory, and snuff-making.
