Abstract | The McDonald family of Georgia and South Carolina included Charles McDonald (born 1744); his wife, Mary Glas McDonald; their son, Charles James McDonald (1793-1860), all of Hancock County, Ga., and others, of other locations in Georgia and South Carolina. The collection includes MacDonald and Lawrence family papers, chiefly letters, 1810-1851, of Charles McDonald, Mary Glas McDonald, Charles James McDonald, and others. Letters discuss various family matters, including schooling; children of the family attended various schools including South Carolina College and Salem Academy. |
