Abstract | Lillie Vause Archbell (1854?-1946) of North Carolina was a leader in affairs of the United Daughters of the Confederacy. The collection includes papers written, compiled, and collected by Archbell concerning the Civil War on the North Carolina coast, including historical articles, reminiscences dictated to Archbell, miscellaneous notes, words to Confederate songs, and clippings. Also included is a diary, 1900, which Anne Enid Archbell kept when she was a young girl in Kinston, N.C., and New Bern, N.C. |

Lillie Vause Archbell (1854?-1946) was a leader in affairs of the United Daughters of the Confederacy and published Carolina and the Southern Cross, 1913-1914, which served as the offical publication of the organization in North Carolina.
