Abstract | Since at least the eighteenth century, members of the Cantrell family have lived throughout the South, including in North Carolina, Tennessee, and Arkansas. The collection is a handwritten document, 29 pages, consisting of biographical sketches of William Armour Cantrell, native of Tennessee and surgeon in the Confederate army, who practiced medicine in Little Rock, Ark., and of forebearers of the Cantrell-Deaderick-Wendel-Harrell family; and a typed biographical sketch of the Cantrell-Cantrill-Cantrall family compiled by the United States Research Bureau. |
