Abstract | William Henry Forney of Alabama was a brigadier general in the Army of the Confederate States of America. The collection contains papers of Forney--in part, photocopies--including a letter to his wife from near Petersburg, Va., 9 February 1865, describing fighting at Hatcher's Run on 6 and 7 February; clippings of tribute to Forney after his death; and an undated speech honoring Confederate soldiers from Alabama delivered in Calhoun County, Ala. |
