Abstract |
MICROFILM ONLY. McIntosh rose in the Confederate ranks to become a colonel in February
1865; he was chief of artillery for the 2nd Corps at the end of the war. Account of
a horseback journey over the Civil War battlefields of northern Virginia and Maryland,
mixed with reminiscences of battles and campaigns in which McIntosh served as a Confederate
artillery officer. Among the battles mentioned are those at Fredericksburg, Chancellorsville,
Harper's Ferry, and Sharpsburg (Antietam).
