Archibald Maclaine (1695-1739 or 1740) was a Scottish Presbyterian minister in Banbridge, Ireland. His son, also named Archibald Maclaine (1728-1790), was born in Banbridge and migrated to Philadelphia, Pa., in 1750. In 1752 he moved to Wilmington, N.C., where he worked as a lawyer and legislater and married Elizabeth Rowan. His daughter married George Hooper.
