Charles C. (Charles Christoper) Adams (1873-1955) was a director of the New York State Museum who was involved in the publication of "A Guide to the Winter Birds of the North Carolina Sandhills" (1928), by Milton Philo Skinner.

The collection includes correspondence of Charles C. Adams concerning the writing and publication of a "A guide to the Winter Birds of the North Carolina Sandhills." Correspondence was mainly with John Warren Achorn (1857-1926), who originated the plans for the guide, financed it, and wrote some of the chapters; Milton Philo Skinner (born 1879), field naturalist who wrote the major portion of the volume; and Edmund J. Sawyer (born 1880), who illustrated it. Also included are field study notes and photographs of the North Carolina sandhills area.
