Allard; an autobiography; extensive diary entries, 1899-1948; reading and field notes; illustrations and graphs; photographs; a bibliography of published works; and writings of Allard on natural history, plant behavior, photoperiodism, the tobacco mosaic virus, and various other subjects. |

Papers are chiefly correspondence of H. A. Allard with other scientists, government departments, and researchers on the subjects of natural history and plant behavior. Letters, 1945-1949, to Allard from his son, Howard F. Allard, in the Dominican Republic and Peru are also included as well as some personal records, honorary degrees and memberships, and photographs.
