Abstract | Armand Soubie (fl. 1852-1900) was a gunsmith and gun trader of New Orleans, La. The collection is chiefly records, 1852-1900, of Soubie, including a monthly stock inventory, September 1859-April 1861; accounts with Pierre Cazelar of Paris, 1852-1856; a ledger of sales and repairs for individuals, 1855-1857; and scattered other records. Also included are twenty-five letters, 1854-1857, from Charles Hummel, gun dealer of San Antonio, Tex., to Soubie concerning their business dealings, Native American raids, and other news. |
