Abstract |
Barkley family of Anderson District, S.C. Correspondence of George R. Barkley, Martin V. Barkley, and J.B.O. Barkley, brothers
serving with the 18th South Carolina Regiment and other units at James Island and
Sullivans Island, S.C., and in Mississippi and Virginia, to their parents, reporting
on their health, news of relatives, longing for the war to end, and shoemaking operations.
Also included are letters from the parents, Josiah and Elizabeth Barkley, to the brothers,
regarding shoemaking for Confederate troops and other matters.
