Benjamin F. Barnard (fl. 1861-1865) was an officer in the United States Army during the Civil War. Barnard served three months with the 5th Massachusetts Regiment and was in the first Battle of Bull Run. Later he was first lieutenant and quartermaster of the 23rd and the 59th Massachusetts infantry regiments. He served primarily along the coasts of North Carolina and South Carolina and in Virginia and Washington, D.C.

Many of the papers are regulation United States army forms that have been filled in. There are also a few orders and some official correspondence.
