Abstract | John W. Rolinson was a Hatteras Island, N.C., teacher, porpoise fisherman, and occasional port collector. The collection includes photographs of Rolinson and his home, and a newspaper article about him. Also available, on microfilm, are selections from an arithmetic exercise and memoranda book, 1845-1905, recording the arrival of ships and their cargoes, weather, wrecks, local events, personal experiences, and the bombardment of Fort Hatteras in 1861. |
