Back to TopArrangement: roughly chronological.
Correspondence, clippings, articles, and other related items written to and by Otelia Carrington Cunningham Connor; her mother, Otelia Carrington Cunningham; and various friends and family members. This series contains letters from Connor's children, David and Kate; typescripts and clippings of articles written by Connor; and letters about her work at Emergency Hospital in Washington, D.C., and Veterans' Hospital in Durham, N.C., in the 1940s. After the appearance of an article about her crusade to bring better manners to the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill appeared in the 19 July 1963 issue of Time Magazine, much of the correspondence and other materials focus on Connor's role as manners maven.
