Abstract | E. D. (Eugene Daniel) Witherspoon (born 1902) was a minister at the First Presbyterian Church, Belmont, N.C. The collection includes miscellaneous scrapbooks from the family of the Reverend E. D. Witherspoon, compiled in Hillsborough, N.C., and Goldsboro, N.C. One volume contains clippings, chiefly 1860, on agricultural, historical, international, religious, and scientific affairs. A second volume contains clippings of poems, essays, and stories, 1880s, and school essays, 1873, by Lizzie Witherspoon of Hillsborough. The third volume, compiled by Mrs. Walter S. Witherspoon, contains clippings of articles, stories about home, family, and nature, and sermons, 1880s and 1930-1950. |
