Abstract | Anson Gustavus Melton (1890-1960) of Cleveland County, N.C., was a Baptist minister and contributor of poems and articles to newspapers and magazines. The collection includes writings and other papers of Anson Melton and consists of six volumes of typed poems by Melton, published and unpublished; a volume of twenty-five typed sermons by Melton; and two volumes containing essays and a novelette by Melton and scattered correspondence, 1922-1923, 1936-1942, and 1951-1955, chiefly relating to Melton's writings. |

Anson Gustavus Melton (1890-1960) of Cleveland County, N.C., was a Baptist minister and contributor of poems and articles to newspapers and magazines. He published a volume of poetry entitled Where is Love? in 1938. He also worked for the Historical Records Survey in Cleveland County.
