Abstract | Richard T. Barnes (fl. 1861-1865), native of Murfreesboro, N.C., was a Confederate soldier with the Hertford Light Infantry. The collection is a typed transcription of memoranda written by Richard T. Barnes, including a diary of his trip by land and water to Portsmouth on the Outer Banks of North Carolina in 1861; a list of places in North Carolina and Virginia he passed through during the war; personal accounts; and reflections. |
