Abstract | Karl Pomeroy Harrington was professor of Latin and director of the glee club at the University of North Carolina, 1891-1899. The collection includes two songs and recollections of life in Chapel Hill, N.C., all by Karl P. Harrington; a copyright certificate, 15 June 1897, for "The Song of the A. B." (music by Harrington); and a letter about Harrington. The songs are "Mrs. Winslow's Soothing Syrup "(handwritten; music by Harrington, 1893), and "Psi U Choral "(published; music by Harrington, undated). The recollections constitute a chapter of Harrington's autobiography. |

Karl Pomeroy Harrington (1861-1953) was professor of Latin and director of the glee club at the University of North Carolina, 1891-1899. Harrington was a graduate of Wesleyan University (class of 1882) and served on the faculty there from 1905 until his retirement in 1929.
