Abstract | Howard Robinson Kornegay was a United States representative from the 6th Congressional District of North Carolina to the 87th through 90th Congresses (January 1961-January 1969) and lawyer of Greensboro, N.C. The collection includes legislative, personal, committee, and general files of Kornegay as Democratic United States representative of the 6th Congressional District of North Carolina to the 87th through 89th Congresses (January 1961-January 1967). Committee files include those Kornegay kept when he was a member of the Veterans' Affairs and Interstate and Foreign Commerce committees. Because the 6th District included Guilford and Alamance counties throughout Kornegay's tenure, much correspondence deals with local affairs and personal concerns from those counties. |

Note that materials are loosely arranged by Congress, but that many materials overlap.
Back to TopArrangement: Materials remain as received in 1968.

Note that materials are loosely arranged by Congress, but that many materials overlap. Original file folder titles have, for the most part, been retained.
Note that box 14 (political file for the 87th Congress) was not received with the original shipment. According to a 2 January 1969 letter from Howard Robinson Kornegay, box 14 along with boxes containing materials, 1967-1969, was supposed to be shipped at a later date. Those boxes were never received.
