Abstract | Julia Goode Eagan (1888-1963) of Salisbury, N.C., was a writer and editor. The collection includes letters to Eagan from University of North Carolina professor Archibald Henderson (1877-1963) of Chapel Hill, N.C., about an article, "Archibald Henderson, World-Famous Carolinian," written by Eagan and published in the Charlotte Observer in 1932; a typescript, 1932, of the article which highlights Henderson's social and home life, family, and personal interests, rather than his public career; and slight, scattered personal correspondence between Eagan and Henderson thereafter. |

Julia Goode Eagan (1888-1963) of Salisbury, N.C., was a writer and editor. Eagan was born in Atlanta, Ga., and married Henry E. Eagan of Salisbury in 1912. She studied at Columbia University, was social editor of the Salisbury Post, 1915-1920; wrote feature articles for the Charlotte Observer and Atlanta Journal; worked for many years as a civil servant; and was the joint author of The Prophet of Zion-Parnassus with James F. Hurly.
