John Tuttle lived in Stokes County, N.C. in the 1840s and 1850s. Some of his children were Elijah Tuttle, Josiah Tuttle, Alexander Tuttle, and Mary Tuttle Martin. Two of his grandchildren were Martin Ebbert and Elizabeth Ebbert Swain.
