Abstract Malcolm Bradfield, son of John W. and Bessie Davidson Bradfield, was raised in Charlotte, N.C. Chiefly letters from Malcolm Bradfield to his mother and other relatives, documenting his experience in the U.S. Engineer Service Battalion during World War I. Bradfield was stationed in Virginia and then served in France. The letters discuss his military experiences and various family and personal matters. A few personal letters from others, including some from another American soldier, are included.
