Abstract | Daniel Lindsey Grant was the first alumni secretary at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, N.C., and was the compiler of the Alumni History of the University of North Carolina (1924). The collection includes general files, notebooks, and other chiefly commercial papers of Daniel Lindsey Grant. General files consist chiefly of investment information. Also included are eleven notebooks of Grant's memoirs. The first four volumes (I-IIIA) are largely text of Grant's autobiography, while the last seven volumes (IV-X) are "Exhibits"--mostly original manuscripts relating to the text and documenting his career. Materials relate chiefly to the University of North Carolina Alumni Association and University of North Carolina history during the 1920s and 1930s. |
