Abstract |
Subject files documenting the life of Almonte Charles Howell (1895-1986), professor
of English, specializing in 17th-century English literature, at the University of
North Carolina, Chapel Hill. Howell taught at UNC from 1920 to 1968 and also served
as the first secretary of the faculty, 1925-1945. Included is a speech written by
Howell relating to Frank Porter Graham's 1950 campaign for the U.S. Senate.
