The memoir primarily describes Pomeranz's business career, emphasizing the development of the Roberts Company, which he operated from 1948 until 1970. The Roberts Company primarily manufactured textile machinery. It also ventured into other fields when opportunity appeared. In fact, Roberts's first venture was the development and sale of Soot Clean, a liquid product that improved the efficiency of combustion of oil-fired tobacco flue heating burners by eliminating accumulations of carbon residue. It was as a textile machinery manufacturer, however, that Roberts developed into a multinational corporation.
A chapter at the end of the memoir describes Pomeranz's experiences with Christian Science, which he credits with two major healings. Also included are three photographs of Pomeranz.
