Abstract |
The collection of white singer and club owner Patti Gordon (d. 2016) of Houston Tex.,
contains letters from the 1950s and 1960s received by Gordon from author Robert Chester
Ruark (1915-1965) with whom she had an intimate relationship. Also included are newspaper
clippings related to both Gordon and Ruark and candid photographs of the couple together,
some taken in Africa where Ruark hunted big game. Images depict animals killed by
Ruark.
