Abstract |
The 1953 recording made by Robert Gould on open-reel audiotape contains live performances
of Wilkes County, N.C., residents, B.L. Lunsford and Paul Joynes, singing old-time
folk songs and ballads. Field notes accompanying the recording list the songs, including
"John Henry," "Old Jimmy Sutton," and "One-eyed Sam." Acquired as part of the Southern
Folklife Collection.
