Abstract The 1976 interviews recorded on audio cassette tape are with Wade Hadley of Siler City, N.C., and Herbert Dowd, Jr., and Mrs. Herbert Dowd of Bear Creek, N.C. Stephen Karl Flad, a German student then studying abroad at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, conducted the interviews for a folklore course.
