Abstract | Woodrow W. Rowland was a storyteller from western North Carolina. The collection consists of two video tapes of a performance by traditional Appalachian storyteller Woodrow W. Rowland during a 1978 visit to Charles (Terry) Zug's folklore class at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He tells two Jack tales, "Cat 'N Mouse" and "The Heifer Hide," and several humorous true stories about the people in western North Carolina mountain community, where Rowland lived in all his life. |
