Abstract The collection contains three framed panoramic photographs of participants in the biannual Tennessee Banjo Institute held in Cedars of Lebanon State Park near Lebanon, Tenn. The Institute was a three-day event with workshops, lessons, and concerts including the Banjo Meltdown. The images show the large groups of participants all holding their banjos. The timed exposure for the panoramic photographs allowed at least two notable participants, Béla Fleck and Pete Seeger, to appear on both sides of the image taken in 1992. Acquired as part of the Southern Folklife Collection.
