Theodore Earl Davis, Jr., was born 31 August 1936 in Greenville, S.C. He lived in Raleigh, N.C., for 42 years and was employed by the Central YMCA. He collected jazz music and literature for more than 60 years. He died in Brevard, N.C., in December 2013.
