||The Department of Orthodontics is one of the eight academic departments at the UNC
School of Dentistry. The School of Dentistry of the University of North Carolina at
Chapel Hill was established by the North Carolina General Assembly in 1949, and the
first classes were admitted in the fall of 1950. The Department of Orthodontics offers
several teaching, research and patient care programs at both the graduate and pre-doctoral
level. Records include departmental correspondence, committee reports and files, materials
on continuing education, annual reports, and faculty meeting minutes. Acquired as
part of University Archives.
