expand/collapse Expand/collapse COVID-19 Screen Prints, 2020-2021.

Acquistions Information: RT 20211021.1

Contains screen prints from Bob Goldstein. The majority of the prints are related to the COVID-19 pandemic and were displayed publicly on telephone poles and elsewhere in Chapel Hill and Carrboro in 2020 and 2021. Included is a series of three prints originally printed on black paper showing a coronavirus image at the top and a vaccine vial at the bottom. As the prints were gradually faded by the sun, the virus image faded and the vial appeared. Other prints contain mask warnings, encouragement to buy takeout, and an image of Anthony Fauci, the director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases during the COVID-19 pandemic. The materials also include prints created by Goldstein during the 2020 Presidential campaign, including "Vote" signs. Prints of Ida B. Wells and Barack Obama were created for a local NAACP fundraiser. A "Cottenboro" print showing Elizabeth Cotten was created for display in Carrboro in 2020.
